Screamify has ordered a second season of The Horrored Girls. The renewal is not the interesting part. Who is still holding the microphone is.

Geri Courtney-Austein and Harley Bronwyn host the video podcast and produce it. Eleven new episodes begin October 7, 2026, weekly. That is the same episode count they delivered the first time out, which is its own quiet statement in a format where women-led shows routinely get a trial run and a polite goodbye.

The premise is a two-hander: a scream queen and a scaredy cat. Bronwyn's horror life started at 11, when her dad took her to see Signs and cost her three months of sleep. Courtney-Austein calls herself a professional scaredy cat, which in practice means she is the one on camera refusing to pretend she is fine. Neither position is a bit. Horror fandom has always split between the people who lean in and the people who watch through their fingers, and the show is built on letting both be legitimate.

But the genre spent decades pointing its camera at women and calling it suspense, and a recurring segment where two women appraise the monster out loud, on a scale of their own invention, is a small reversal with real teeth. The joke is the delivery system. The gaze is the point.

The Room They Built

Season 1 brought in directors Chelsea Stardust, Anthony DiBlasi and David Blue Garcia, SFX artist Jeff Farley, actor Patrick Fabian, and Riley Dandy, who knows a thing or two about final-girl energy. Abby Wright, Cheryl Meyer, Lee Waddell and Michael Capes filled out the run. Every guest tells a “Horrorigin” story before anything else happens, which turns the interview into shared history instead of a promo stop.

Then come the games: rapid-fire challenges, trivia, monster makeup competitions. Two award-winning working actors could easily have made a polite craft-chat show. They made one where the guest has to earn the exit.

Season 2 guests have not been named. The show says outreach is running across upcoming films and series plus established genre figures, with confirmations before the premiere.
